We’re getting used to the double header culture here at the 2019 Pakistan National T20 Cup. All games are being played at Iqbal Stadium at Faisalabad and there’s plenty of assistance to spinners, while the batsmen are scoring runs as well. In Match 7 of the tournament, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is set to play their third game, having won the first and losing the second against Southern Punjab.
They will play Sindh now, who has also played 2 games so far, winning one and losing one. It shows how good the pitches are for batting as they lost their last game to Balochistan, the latter scoring 233 and Sindh losing by a massive margin of 52 runs. Numbers
- Head to head, these two teams are playing each other for the first time.
- Khurram Manzoor scores this tournament so far – 50, 33.
- Mohammad Hasnain figures this tournament so far – 2/32, 3/42.
- Mohammad Mohsin with the ball this tournament – 4/17, 3/37.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa
This team has a couple of potential all-round options. One of them is Iftikhar Ahmed who bats in the middle order and bowls out his quota as well. He was also part of the squad playing Sri Lanka recently where he was dismissed once with scores of 32*, 28*, 25, 17*. Another one is Adil Amin who opens the bowling and also bats in the middle order. Pick them both!
The surprise package so far with the ball has been Mohammad Mohsin who picked 4 wickets in the opening game. With not many scalps in the build up to this tournament, I skipped the player but he picked another three in the second game. The very experienced Junaid Khan is in the squad and I’ll pick him especially since hes gone wicketless in both games so far and there won’t be a huge percentage of fantasy teams selecting him.
Sindh
Opening batsman Khurram Manzoor seems to be in good touch and he has experience playing for the national side as well, so I will be picking him in my fantasy side. He has 83 runs in 2 games and had a bunch of 50+ scores in the last few months including a couple of centuries. Anwar Ali was promoted up the order in the last game and while he got a duck, I’ll pick him as he can really give it a good swing.
Ali also has a wicket in each game so far, so he is a good pick. Wicket-keeper and national team captain Sarfraz Ahmed batted all the way down at #7 in the last game, so I’ll skip him. With the ball, 19-year old Mohammad Hasnain has been making a name for himself, with 5 wickets in 2 games so far; he also has national team experience. X-factor for your Howzat (sign-up with code “READ1234”) fantasy team – Sohail Khan.
