Central Punjab
The team will be led by Babar Azam who is undoubtedly the best batsman in Pakistan at the moment. After scoring 115 in the 2nd ODI against Sri Lanka, Azam had four failures with the bat but he’s sure to get back among the runs here, and is even a good choice for fantasy team captain. The innings will be opened by Ahmed Shehzad who scored only 4 and 13 in two T20Is against Sri Lanka but he has been good in the domestic circuit of late.
Alongside Shehzad at the top will be former international player Salman Butt who recently smashed 237 for Central Punjab in an FC game against Balochistan a couple of weeks back, so the form is high. Azhar Ali won’t be available for the first few games while Hasan Ali’s participation depends on his fitness. Faheem Ashraf is coming off a successful season with Northants and he can bring that experience to this tournament.
Sindh
Wicket-keeper batsman and national side skipper Sarfraz Ahmed leads the side and he should definitely be in your PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy team even though he hasn’t had many big scores in recent times. 34-year old Fawad Alam is also part of the squad, a player with plenty of experience and one who can contribute with bat and ball. He scored an FC century last month but he could be an expensive option.
Khurram Manzoor is in good form and he’s a good option, especially since he has experience of playing for the national side too. Another couple of players who have played a lot for Pakistan are Sohail Khan and Anwar Ali, both of whom haven’t done much in the domestic circuit in recent times. Youngster Mohammad Hasnain is an x-factor player as he has a lot of wickets in recent months across all competitions.
