It’s going to be a fun 2020 National T20 Cup with double headers scheduled daily. In Match 1 of the tournament, we have defending champions Northern Punjab playing Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a few hours later, Match 2 begins between Central Punjab and Southern Punjab, at the same ground in Multan and we think that Southern begins as slight favourites for this encounter.
Central had a horrible 2019 season where they ended at the bottom of the points table with 1 win in 5 games whereas Southern had a good tournament, finishing third on the points table but eventually heading out in the semi final stage. Central Punjab
The side is being captained by Babar Azam and it’s a no brainer to have him in your CEP vs SOP fantasy team, with plenty of runs under his belt of late and a score of 114* for Somerset earlier this month in the T20 Blast as well. Another person to watch out for with the bat is Kamran Akmal who has plenty of international experience and of late, he’s excelled in domestic T20 tournaments as well.
Bowling all-rounder Faheem Ashraf can also end up being a very valuable player in your CEP vs SOP fantasy team, having travelled with the national side to England recently as well. In the 2019 season, he bagged 8 wickets in the 4 matches he played! Watch out for Zafar Gohar who has 5 wickets in his last 3 T20 games but he is useful with the bat too, with a score of 99 in a recent First Class game as well.
Southern Punjab
Shan Masood is captaining the side and while he got a massive 156 in England last month, he’s got only 2 fifties in 50 career T20 games, so we’re skipping him because of poor returns in this format. Instead, we can add Aamer Yamin to our fantasy team who scored 115 runs in 5 games last season and had 3 wickets to his name as well. Hussain Talat is similarly a good batting all-rounder option for your team today!

He may not have the greatest record but we think that Saif Badar is one of the better upcoming talents in Pakistan and that’s why we’re including him in our BatBall11 (Code “READ123“) fantasy team. While they didn’t have an big individual performers last season, it’s safe to say Zahid Mahmood did a good job with the ball and we’re picking him to start off this campaign well for Southern Punjab!
