Karan Nande put up a match-winning effort in the last game, scoring 50 in just 23 balls and there will be a surge in popularity for this player in fantasy leagues. However, NMP have a strong batting order and Nande batted down at #7 so I don’t fancy him getting another long knock here. I’ll skip him and rather pick Sairaj Patil in my fantasy team. He smashed 46(18) in that last game where NMP scored 190/8.
Prithvi Shaw had a decent IPL 2019 with a couple of half-centuries and I think he can do better than 22 that he did in the last game. Atif Attarwala picked up 3/37 but I’ll skip him for 2 other bowling options. Prathamesh Dake is one who was slightly expensive with 2/41 but wickets are what matter. The experienced Pravin Tambe is another one, even though he ended wicketless with 0/28 in his 3 overs.
NaMo Bandra Blasters
I’ve always stressed the importance of all-rounders in T20 cricket, especially in smaller leagues like the MPL 2019. Sujit Nayak was my captain in the last game and he didn’t disappoint with a fantastic all-round performance that went in vain. However, he was used at the 7th bowler and batted at #5, so I have reason to demote him and play him as vice-captain or a normal player. Especially since NBB have a brilliant top order.
Delhi Capitals captain Shreyas Iyer has been in scintillating form of late. After a failure in the last game, I’m backing him as my captain here. He also ended as one of the top scorers at the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Cup. Also pick his opening partner and wicket-keeper Eknath Kerkar in your Funtasy11 (sign-up with code “6CD431“) fantasy team. He comes with a lot of experience and his failure of 7 in the last game would mean lesser popularity in fantasy leagues.
