Star overseas signing for the team will be Alex Hales and they will be hoping he can get a few big scores as no one did well with the bat in MSL 2018. Their highest scorer last year was Khaya Zondo who had 216 runs in 10 games and while he hasn’t been in great form recently, I’ll pick them both today. Hales had only 197 runs in 12 games in CPL 2019 and hasn’t been at his best since return from his doping suspension recently.
All-rounders are vital and they have one of the most experienced ones in Ravi Bopara, who has played almost every T20 league across the world; he was good in the 2019 T20 Blast too. Another one to pick is Andile Phehlukwayo who bowls and is a floater in the batting order too, though he had a horrid MSL 2018 with 93 runs and 3 wickets in 8 games. Watch out for bowling all-rounder Prenelan Subrayen who has 12 wickets in his last 4 FC bowling efforts.
Tshwane Spartan
You must pick AB de Villiers who will be raring to get back into action. Undoubtedly one of the greatest of the game, AB scored 3 consecutive fifties for Middlesex in the 2019 T20 Blast, with 4 fifties in 8 games. Their other hero with the bat will be Theunis de Bruyn who recently had a horrible tour of India with 82 runs in 5 innings. But he was the highest scorer in the 2019 CSA T20 Challenge with 348 runs in just 7 games.
Their overseas signings include Tom Curran and Waqar Salamkheil and I’ll definitely have the latter in my MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team; the 18-year old picked 10 wickets in 6 games at the 2019 Shpageeza League. When we last checked, all-rounder and former South African international Roelof van der Merwe had 10 wickets in 7 games at the T20 WC Qualifier for Netherlands while he’s a handy batsman too.
