Okay boys. Get your attention slightly away from the ICC 2019 World Cup at the moment, because we have some T20 action for everyone to savour. Not necessarily the best known cricketing nations in the world, but they are upcoming ones and now, Malaysia is all set to hos a T2- tr-series between 24-29 June 2019 which will be contested between Malaysia, Thailand and Maldives.
On 1st January 2019, the ICC decided to grant T20 status to each and every member nation which means that Malaysia and Thailand will be making their T20 international debuts in this series. Initially, Papua New Guinea was supposed to be a part too in a quadrangular series but they withdrew at the last moment. All games will be played at the Kinrara Oval in Kuala Lumpur. Malaysia
Ahmad Faiz will captain the home team and this is one player we know for sure will play. However, he is a one-dimensional player (batsman) and I generally avoid such choices for T20 cricket. Instead, I’d go for someone like Virandeep Singh. Singh is set to open the innings for Malaysia and is often their first-change bowler as well, so high chances of picking up some fantasy points.
Shafiq Sharif could become your wicket-keeper. He hasn’t had the best scores coming into this game but he has a few good scores in his career and opens the innings for Malaysia. Another person who bats ad bowls both and could give you some important fantasy points is Nazril Rahman, so make sure you pick him.
Thailand
Thailand is set to be led by Vichanath Singh. The player is a slow left-arm orthodox and I always fancy these bowlers. He has a number of wickets in his last 10 games for Thailand, so pick him today. Chanchai Pengkumta scored 50 in a T20 against Myanmar here in October last here so he could also be another good option.
Mahsid Faheem is set to lead the bowling attack for Thailand. His last 10 games for the country has only seen him picking 7 wickets which means he won’t have great popularity in fantasy leagues.
