Another day and it’s another double header at the 2019 Karnataka Premier League (KPL). The first game is Match 6 – Bellary Tuskers vs Hubli Tigers and both teams have played a game each so far. It was a welcome victory for Tuskers as they began their campaign by beating Belagavi Panthers by 5 runs.
However, we can’t say the same for Hubli Tigers, having conceded a loss to Shivamogga Lions, the latter being the the biggest underdogs in the competition. Opener Abhishek Reddy scored 35(33) and he’s also a worthy choice of adding toy our fantasy team.
I spoke about Krishnappa Gowtham and the loads of confidence he must be having after becoming an important part of the Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2019. He picked 2/32 and scored 11(7) in the opening game and this all-rounder should at least be your vice-captain if not captain. Pacer Prasidh Krishna rose to fame from these small leagues and he picked 2/26 in the last game; pick him even though he had a fruitless IPL 2019.
Hubli Tigers
Because of his all-round abilities, Praveen Dubey is one of my first Howzat (sign-up with code “READ1234”) fantasy picks for this team. He bowled three overs and went wicketless and scored 19(12) batting at #6 but I’ll pick him because of his high involvement in the game at all times.
With the bat, KB Pawan played a attacking innings which was truly a delight to watch. He had a fifty and a century for Nagaland in the Ranji Trophy which means he’s in good form as well. Captain Vinay Kumar is a default pick because of his massive experience. He went wicketless but came out and showed intent with the bat, hitting a quick 4 and 6 before being dismissed.
