Both teams have a 2-match losing streak each so far in the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams have 5 wins in 11 games each and both have mid-table woes to worry about as we move into the final couple of weeks of this season. Now, Sunrisers Hyderabad hosts Kings XI Punjab in Match 48 and both will be desperate to get back to winning ways.
As for the hosts, they have worries of international drop-outs as the World Cup approaches, while Punjab are facing the same issue they had last season. In IPL 2019 too, they began well but have now won only one game out of their last 5. Keep reading for our complete Dotball (Sign-up here) fantasy preview of this SRH vs KXIP game…

Stats
- Head to head, SRH has dominated KXIP, 9-4.
- KXIP won the reverse fixture in IPL 2019 by 6 wickets.
- Manish Pandey has only 198 runs in 7 innings in IPL 2019.

- Nicholas Pooran has been dismissed by off-spin only once in last 20 innings.
Hyderabad
Look at that stat. Manish Pandey sure did struggle but a majority of those runs have come in his last two innings of 83* and 61, where anew found mojo seems to have solved SRH’s middle order problems. With Wriddhiman Saha back in the side as wicket-keeper, it’s pointless for him to be batting at #5 and #6. I’d like to see him open with Warner and make maximum use of the powerplay overs, allowing Kane Williamson to bat at his preferred #3 position.
As for the bowlers, they don’t seem to be that side capable of defending the lowest totals anymore. Sandeep Sharma struggled for a few games in IPL 2019 so they replaced him with Siddarth Kaul in the last game who also went the distance with figures of 0/48. Kau should be given another try while Mohammad Nabi should come back in for Shakib al Hasan.
Punjab
Chris Gayle’s consistency this year has been marvellous, so he has to be a part of your fantasy team regardless of conditions. Ravichandran Ashwin has shown great leadership qualities with 12 wickets in 11 games and a fantastic economy rate of just 7.18. Mohammed Shami too has picked wickets in every game so both these guys should be in your fantasy team.
Gayle has 444 runs while Rahul has 441 runs so far in IPL 2019 but the middle order hasn’t been as good. However, Mayank Agarwal scored a fiery fifty in the reverse fixture and he should also be picked. As for the 4th overseas spot, I’m not sure why KXIP has insisted with Hardus Viljoen who hasn’t been very effective. If Mujeeb Rahman is playing, he should be picked instead.
