It’s a streak vs streak battle this Sunday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) where Delhi Capitals play host to Royal Challengers Bangalore in Match 46 of the season. The former has a playoffs berth in sight with 2 straight wins while the latter are determined to get off the bottom spot in the points table with 3 wins in their last 3 games.
RCB will have a few changes but momentum is on their side right now in IPL 2019. It’s a homecoming for Delhi boy and RCB skipper Virat Kohli and he’ll be looking for revenge as Delhi won the reverse fixture pretty easily with a little more than an over to spare. Delhi
Delhi have had their Indian players performing throughout IPL 2019 and apart from Kagiso Rabada, none of the overseas players have looked to perform consistently. However, the playing eleven may more-or-less stay the same in this game with Colin Ingram, Sherfane Rutherford and Sandeep Lamichhane being the other foreign picks. My only selection from these four would be Rabada.
To help Rabada with the bowling load, there’s Amit Mishra and Axar Patel. Mishra only has 4 wickets in 6 games this year but he can be very deceptive, especially if Delhi bowl first. Later in the night, dew plays a major factor. As for Axar, ABD has had major problems against left-arm spinners so he may be used as a lethal weapon. With the bat, pick Shreyas Iyer who has been very consistent this year.
Bangalore
Everything has gone wrong for RCB in IPL 2019 and he’s some further bad news as Dale Steyn gets ruled out of the tournament due to injury, just as he came and injected some life into the RCB bowling. Tim Southee played the last game and will continue to lead their bowling attack; his experience gets him a spot in my fantasy team. Another major wicket-taker is Yuzvendra Chahal and you can’t miss this guy if playing one-on-one. If you wish to play a gamble in a grand league, swap him for the pacer Navdeep Saini.
Moeen Ali has flown off to be with the England World Cup squad; two possible replacements are Colin de Grandhomme and Shimron Hetmyer and I’ll pick the latter even though he’s had a bad time this year. RCB have 4 specialist bowlers and they can get the 6th bowler overs from Marcus Stoinis and Washington Sundar. The latter isn’t a very popular pick in fantasy teams so he could be your x-factor player if used smartly ie. maybe a couple of powerplay overs for him.
