IPL 2019 Match 45 – RR vs SRH Fantasy Preview

It’s a Saturday in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and for the first time this season, we’re not having a double header on the weekend. The chances are slowly coming to and end for Rajasthan Royals and even though they won their last game, they’re without most of their overseas players, and it’s only going to get worse from here. They can only rely on Indian talent from here on.

They now host Sunrisers Hyderabad who are better off on the IPL 2019 points table but they are in the same boat. A couple of players have left while a few will leave in the next few days, as World Cup duties call. Keep reading for our complete PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview of the RR vs SRH game…

IPL 2019 Match 45 - RR vs SRH fantasy preview

Form (recent first)

  • RR: W L W L W
  • SRH: L W W L L

Stats

  • Ajinkya Rahane needs 53 more to reach 5,000 T20 runs.
  • Shreyas Gopal has 13 wickets so far in 11 games.
  • David Warner has 574 runs in 10 games – tournament highest.
  • Only Ajinkya Rahane has 350+ runs for Rajasthan in IPL 2019.
  • Head to head, SRH lead RR 6-4.
  • In the reverse fixture, SRH beat RR by 5 wickets.

Rajasthan

Two major changes for Rajasthan Royals would be the departure of Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer, after Jos Buttler already left last week. Possible replacements for the overseas duo for the rest of IPL 2019 are Liam Livingstone, Ashton Turner and Ish Sodhi. With the success of Gopal so far in the league, we might see Ish Sodhi getting a game, while I’d like to see Rahul Tripathi get a game instead of Turner/Livingstone.

Tripathi could open the innings with Rahane as these guys have partnered well in the past for Pune Supergiant. On the other hand, Sanju Samson can take the #3 spot and he is your automatic wicket-keeper pick for this game. Someone who has really impressed is the 17-year old Riyan Parag. Bowling a complete quota of 4 overs and batting higher than Stuart Binny, he becomes a must-pick all-rounder in your fantasy team tonight.

Hyderabad

Changes changes changes. Jonny Bairstow is out to join the English World Cup squad, so a wicket-keeper spot opens up as well as an opener spot. Wriddhiman Saha and Shreevats Goswami are the options and both can be ignored while the opener spot could be consumed be either of Kane Williamson or Martin Guptill. Williamson is likely because of his success with the club in the past, while his experience as captain is crucial at this point in IPL 2019.

Sandeep Sharma has only picked up 2 wickets in his last 4 games and his death bowling hasn’t been great either, giving 50+ in his last game. Siddarth Kaul is most likely to join the team for this match. Shakib al Hasan’s inefficiency with the ball in the last game and his inability slog as well as Mohammad Nabi means the latter could be a better option. If yes, Nabi is my vice-captain tonight.
