Everything just seems to be falling in place for Kolkata Knight Riders at the moment. They have 4 wins in 5 games at this moment in the 2019 Indian Premier League (IPL) and are sitting pretty at the top of the table. However, if there is someone to give them competition, it is Chennai Super Kings, and what’s worse is that they place at the latter’s home ground in Chepauk.
Both teams come into Match 23 of IPL 2019 with a win, but KKR on a hot streak. As if Andre Russell’s antics weren’t enough so far, they now also have Chris Lynn striking form and they chased down the target in their last game with 6+ overs to spare. As for CSK, they are a champion side, but there are a few worries for sure. Keep reading for our complete CSK vs KKR PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview…

Chennai
Chepauk is known to provide assistance to spinners which means that Harbhajan Singh will retain his place ahead of Mohit Sharma. If Harbhajan has 5 wickets in 3 games, the game-changer Imran Tahir has 7 in 5 games and both these players find a way into my fantasy team. I’ve really become a fan of Deepak Chahar’s swing bowling and composure under pressure, but he hasn’t been among the wickets (5 in 5 games) so I’ll skip him today.
Ambati Rayudu’s shift down the order was MS Dhoni’s best move so far in IPL 2019 and the replacement opener Faf du Plessis struck fifty on his debut this season. Watto has suffered from poor form so I will pick Faf, along with MSD (who scored 43 in 23 in the last game against KKR) and Kedar Jadhav, who may very likely be brought on with the ball as well. Dwayne Bravo is out for 2 weeks and Scott Kuggeleijn is a worthy pick.
Kolkata
Russell has been a force to recon with this season but Chris Lynn’s emerging form is what makes me excited. After failures of 7, 10 and 20, Lynn has scored 43 and 50, and if we go by this trend of higher scores each game, Lynn may treat us to some lynnsanity in this match. I’m making him my captain. Robbie Uthappa’s form this season means you can’t miss him either.
With the ball, I was expecting Kuldeep Yadav to be the x-factor for KKR but he has only 3 wickets in 5 games so far. Go with less popular bowlers like Prasidh Krishna, who is an emerging talent and his first wicket of the season in the last game would give him some confidence. Harry Gurney picked 2/25 on IPL debut so you can pick him as well. Both teams are expected to play unchanged sides.
