Kings XI Punjab are all set to face a tough competitor in Sunrisers Hyderabad tonight in Match 22 of the 2019 Indian Premier League, with both teams having lost their respective last game. Sunrisers are sitting pretty at #2 on the IPL 2019 points table but Punjab and are in the bottom half at #6.
Funnily however, both teams have 3 wins in 5 games and five teams are currently with 6 points (prior to Match 21). Punjab have been good on certain days but they are up against probably the best team in IPL 2019 at the moment, with everyone clicking. They had one bad day in the office which saw them collapse to 96 against Mumbai. Keep reading for our complete PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview…

Punjab
So Kings XI have made it clear that they want both of Chris Gayle and Sam Curran in the team in IPL 2019. With David Miller’s position also fixed, we have room for only one overseas bowler, which could be filled in by any one of Hardus Viljoen, Mujeeb Rahman and Andrew Tye. Since this position is dicey and none have been among the wickets, I’ll leave all three out of my fantasy team.
The 21-year old Sarfaraz Khan has clearly come of age in IPL 2019, credit going to KXIP allowing him to bat up the order. He has scores of 46*, 13, 39 and 67 this year. However, he and KL Rahul will be under the pump after their bad judgment of the chase in the last game. The last time KXIP played SRH, Ankit Rajpoot took 5/14. I’d like to see him come into the team in place of Shami or M. Ashwin.
Hyderabad
Now this team is doing well, but they might be entirely dependent on David Warner and Jonny Bairstow with the bat. Bairstow has 36(39) against spin in the powerplay overs in T20s and I’ll skip him as Ashwin will surely employ himself and M. Ashwin in this period. Further, Sam Curran’s role becomes important as Warner himself has lost his wicket to left-arm pace 5 times in powerplays since IPL 2016.
