Kings XI Punjab have begun well so far in the 2019 Indian Premier League, with two wins in three games, while Delhi Capitals also have two wins from three games. The latter is slightly ahead on the IPL 2019 points table with a higher net run rate and now, both teams square off in Match 13 at Mohali.
Punjab come off a well chased game of 170+ against Mumbai while Delhi come off a thrilling super over against Kolkata, where Kagiso Rabada held his nerve to defend a low total in the deciding over. Now, both teams will be looking for a second consecutive win that will fix their spot in the top half of the table. Keep reading for our KXIP vs DD PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview…

Punjab
Suddenly, the KXIP top order looks much stronger than it did a couple of games ago. Chris Gayle is anyway in the form of his life with 79, 20, 40 so far in three games while KL Rahul decided to join the party too, smashing a match-winning 71* after two failures in IPL 2019. Mayank Agarwal’s 43(21) meant they have a solid top three, allowing the likes of David Miller to come in and do the perfect finisher’s job.
If there’s one person I could consider resting for this game, it would be Mohammed Shami. He has conceded 0/33, 1/44, 2/42 in his three games so far, which is far too expensive. Ankit Rajpoot could be someone they want instead, who took 2/33 in his only game this year. In the 4 games he has been a part of the team, they have conceded at 7.9 between overs 15-20, while the 12 games without him have gone at 11.2 per over.
Delhi
Not sure why Sandeep Lamichhane was held back for so long, but he played the last game for Capitals and picked up 1/29 in a game where KKR scored at over 9 an over. I think DC has found the right team combination now, with 2 overseas bowlers, 1 batsman and one all-rounder. However, they might want to consider Axar Patel coming in for Amit Mishra, with the latter not having a great record against the KXIP batsmen.
16, 18, 43 have been Shreyas Iyer’s scores so far in IPL 2019. We saw Prithvi Shaw smashing 99 in the last game and Rishabh Pant playing a match-winning hand in their opening game, but now its time for Iyer to produce a big knock. Iyer looked dangerous in the last game and will be looking to convert his three starts into a big score. Similar, the experienced Shikar Dhawan has 43, 51, 16 in his three games so far and he also makes my fantasy team.
