India Women have hosted England Women over the last couple of weeks and after winning the ODI series 2-1, the Indian eves have lost the T20 series 2-0, with one game to go and nothing to play for but pride.
They tried chasing and they tried batting first, but both yielded the same results – losses. 119 and 111 are the two scores the Indian team has managed in these two games, and it clearly hasn’t been the best captaincy debut series for the young Smriti Mandhana. As for the Indian side, their captain Smriti Mandhana has only managed scores of 2 and 12 but she looked good in that knock of 12(5) in the last game that involved two sixes, so I’ll definitely be picking her in my side.
Jemimah is just 18 years old and having scored only 4 runs in 2 games means not many will be picking her, so here’s your x-factor fantasy player, as we’ve seen how destructive she can be in the past. 1/39 in 8 overs have been Shikha Pandey’s returns in this series so far. She has been good but not rewarded with wickets but you can choose her, as you know she can contribute with the bat if another collapse happens.
England Women
99 runs in 2 games and Danielle Wyatt has a point to prove, particularly after she was snubbed from the ODI squad. She could become your captain for this 3rd T20 as she knows how to keep the momentum going at the top. Your vice-captain too, comes from England, in Katherine Brunt. She has wickets and can bat too, if needed.
Another expensive pick can be made in either Tammy Beaumont or Natalie Sciver. Beaumont has a fifty in this series already while Sciver hasn’t had the best series with the bat. However, she gives you those couple of overs with the ball at the top, so Sciver makes my team. Choice of making a vice-captain is yours here. Maybe play Wyatt as just a normal player and Brunt/Sciver the captains.
