India A Tour of West Indies 2019 – 3rd ODI Fantasy Preview

It’s a bit of a hangover now for cricket fans as we have to deal with life without the ICC 2019 World Cup. However, for fantasy cricket lovers, there’s always the best of action happening. Here, India A has gone over to the other side of the world where they will play 5 ODIs and 3 Tests against West Indies A between 11 July and 9 August 2019. So far, two ODIs are complete and India A won both by 65 runs each.

Now, the 3rd ODI will be played at the same ground in Antigua and you should follow the same rule for fantasy league in ‘A’ matches, which is first picking all those who have experience playing for the national teams or for major leagues like IPL, CPL, etc. Then, you move on to the lesser experienced players. Stats

  • In 17 ODIs here, 10 have been won by the team batting first.
  • Average 1st innings score here – 235 runs.
  • 187*, 125*, 84, 74, 3, 85 – Ruturaj Gaikwad’s scores in last 6 innings.

West Indies A

West Indies A is being captained by Roston Chase and he’s one of the first names on my team sheet not just because he is captain but because he has played a lot for the senior team and also possesses great all-round abilities. So far, he has 4 wickets and 9 runs with the bat in 2 games but has potential of doing better with the bat. Another great all-round option is Rakheem Cornwall who hasn’t been at his best yet, but can be deadly on his day.

So far, Cornwall has 2 wickets and 13 runs and can be much better. Keemo Paul was a regular part of the Delhi Capitals squad in IPL 2019 and I believe he may make his way back into the playing 11 here for WI-A after being rested for the first two games. He could come in for left-arm spinner Kharry Pierre who has just managed 1 wicket in 2 games. Your wicket-keeper pick can come from this team in Shane Dowrich.

India A

Ruturaj Gaikwad is obviously the man to watch out for in this India A team, coming off a fantastic series against Sri Lanka A and his failure in the 1st ODI here was his first single digit score in a while. He is a friend of Read Scoops and we expect him to do well here again. Gaikwad, Shreyas Iyer and Shubman Gill all have one fifty each in 2 games each and if India continue to follow the rotational policy as they did against SL-A, we can expect one to be rested for Anmolpreet Singh, who can be picked if he makes the playing 11.

Another player you must have in your FanFight (Sign-up and get Rs.30 FREE) fantasy team is Navdeep Saini whose raw pace impressed one and all at IPL 2019. Here too, he is the leading wicket-taker so far with 5 wickets in the only game her played – 2nd ODI. RCB player Washington Sundar could be a good all-round option, someone who scored 10* and picked 2/37 in his only game so far on this tour to West Indies.
