However, India A is now touring West Indies since 11 July and we recently concluded the 5-match ODI series which saw India emerging victorious 4-1, losing one game narrowly by 5 runs. The focus now moves to the longer format of the game and these two teams will play 3 unofficial Tests before the tour wraps up in a couple of weeks.

Brooks has a couple of fifties in his last 2 FC games for Barbados while Brathwaite is coming off a poor run of scores, but the latter has 50+ international tests to his name and is a real grinder at the top of the order.
Pick Chase too as he had a successful ODI series. An added batting option could be Sunil Ambris who scored 160+ runs in the ODIs even after bagging a duck in the 1st ODI. Remember, he was also a part of the Windies squad at the recent 2019 World Cup. With the ball, don’t forget to pick Jomel Warrican. He has 2 recent 8-fers which is rare in test cricket including 8/89 against Jamaica in Dec 2018 and then 8/45 against Windward Islands in Feb 2019.
India A
The wicket-keeper pick is an easy one as Wriddhiman Saha has been India’s first-choice test keeper since 2014 until Rishab Pant came around. Saha will play ahead of KS Bharat for the first 2 Tests until he leaves to be with Team India. India A will be captained by Shreyas Iyer and he’s in brilliant touch with 2 fifties in the 4 ODIs, while also falling short of another one with an innings of 47 too.
