The 2020 Caribbean Premier League is here and in case you’ve not watched the CPL T20 in the past, here’s your chance to get in on what’s the most entertaining T20 professional league in the world. We have a couple of matches scheduled on each day and the first game of Day 2 is Match 3 of CPL 2020 where Jamaica Tallawahs find themselves in action against St Lucia Zouks, both playing their first respective games of the tournament.

Both teams had a horrible season in CPL 2019 with Tallawahs ending at the bottom of the points table after having managed only 2 wins in 10 games. As for the Zouks, they did one game better with 3 wins in their 10 matches, finishing fifth out of 6 participating franchises teams in the competition. Jamaica Tallawahs

This team struggled to pick wickets in CPL 2019 because they’ve gone in for more all-rounders than specialist bowlers. Some of these all-rounders include Andre Russell and Carlos Brathwaite both being among the most destructive T20 players to have come out of the Caribbean. Both in the same team can be a nightmare for opponents; if I had to choose one for my JAM vs SLZ fantasy team I’d pick Dre Russ, or else it’s best to pick both.

We have Jermaine Blackwood in the side who recently represented Windies in the Test squad against England and he played a match-winning knock of 95 in the 1st Test, so he could end up being the main batsman for Tallawahs in CPL 2020. Fidel Edwards has been doing well in England in recent years and I’d like to pick him just for Nostalgia sake if he makes the team while the young Nepali leg-spinner Sandeep Lamichhane would be the better bowling option.

St Lucia Zouks

U-19 captain Kimani Melius scored a top score of 65 in 6 Youth ODIs and while he’s not sure of making the side, he’s worth picking if he does make it. However, one person who’s sure of making this team is Rahkeem Cornwall who’s surprisingly more athletic than he looks and he’s someone who will contribute with both bat as well as ball, and it’s even worth a try to make him our fantasy captain or vice-captain.

Talking about all-rounders, we have 2-time World Cup winning captain Daren Sammy in the side but he’s aging and doesn’t bowl much these days, so we’re leaving him out of our BatBall11 (Use code “READ123“) fantasy team today. Instead, pick the Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi who has experience playing in various professional leagues across the globe. Kesrick Williams is also a very cunning T20 bowler who shouldn’t be left out!
