It’s the 2021/22 Big Bash League and so far, teams are still settling in to the new season and trying out the right team combinations. Today, we have another single header in Match 11 of BBL 11 and here, Brisbane Heat is one of the teams in action. They’ve got the home advantage and you’d think they could go on to win but they’ve had a poor start to the series, with 2 losses in 2 games now, at the bottom of the BBL 2021/22 points table.
On the other hand is Melbourne Renegades, the team that s least expected to win the trophy this season. They began with a 2-run win to open their season and then lost to Strikers by as many as 49 runs yesterday, so now have 1 in in their two games and will be wanting to get back to winning ways. Numbers
- Head to head in last 5 games, Heat leads 3-2.
- 9 games played in BBL 2021/22 – 8 won batting first.
- Sam Harper scores this season so far – 33 and 33.
Brisbane Heat
With scores of 42 and 34 in their two games so far, Sam Heazlett has got two starts and will be looking at converting these starts into a big score. He’s been around in the BBL since a while and his experience gets him into my HEA vs REN fantasy team today. They’ve also got one overseas signing in Ben Duckett who failed in one game but has a top score of 46 runs and should certainly be picked today.
With only 15 runs scored in 2 games in this season so far, not many will be picking James Bazley because he’s got only 1 wicket in his 7 overs bowled as well. However, he’s an x-factor pick and could be captain or vice-captain of your HEA vs REN Dream11 team. They played USA’s Cameron Gannon in the last game and in his first appearance in BBL 11, he impressed with 2 wickets and should be picked as well.
Melbourne Renegades
Opening the batting for Renegades is someone who can’t play the big shots but he can surely get boundaries in the powerplay overs and that’s Sam Harper who is quick on his feet and makes my team in every game in BBL 11. Jake Fraser-McGurk scored only 11 runs in 2 games and we’re leaving out the 19-year old. Mohammad Nabi is a sure pick maybe even as fantasy captain even though he has only 24 runs and no wickets so far.

With Aaron Finch still recovering from injury, Kane Richardson is enjoying his time a captain and has 5 wickets in 2 games including a 4-fer in the last, so makes our MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) HEA vs REN fantasy team. There’s the young Will Sutherland in the side who hasn’t got the chance to show his batting prowess yet but 2 wickets are what he’s got and could be a valuable addition to the team.
