Everton have performed miserably this season with Marco Silva getting the boot ultimately. The arrival of their ex-player Duncan Ferguson as the caretaker manager has lifted their spirits and performances which has seen them win and draw against Chelsea & Manchester United respectively. Players like Richarlison, Calvert Lewin have been revitalized. With the amount of investment made by the board over the past few summers, Everton have under-performed and Ferguson has a very tough task at his hand. With talks of Carlo Ancelotti being finalized for the managerial post, Ferguson can make a statement of intent with a string of big results especially against this Arsenal team who are playing their worst football at the moment.

We have never seen an Arsenal side struggle so much, with just 5 wins in 17 PL games so far! Their defence has been utterly shambolic with some huge defensive errors leading to goals. The only thing that is keeping Arsenal up this season is their forward line with the likes of Aubamyeng, Lacazzette and some spirited performances from their youngsters such as Geundouzi, Maitland Niles, Willock. The issue of central defense hasn’t been yet solved nor is the defensive midfielder position. The whole Arsenal squad has been accused of attitude issues, rebellion in the dugout and are clearly in crisis at the moment. The emergence of Martinelli has been exciting and he looks a great prospect for the future, surely a superstar in the making. They need a result from this game.
