Last week, we introduced the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy to all of you following the website for fantasy league tips and previews. It’s a shorter version of the usual Specsavers County Championship which has 18 counties in action. Last week, we covered a few matches and we have another match here today with Middlesex in action, fresh off a 190-run victory against Surrey last week.
Here, they’re up against Hampshire who sadly didn’t have the best of results in their first game of the season, falling short against Sussex by 90 runs. Ensure you drop those from your fantasy team who are playing for England at the moment against Pakistan. Keep reading for our complete PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234“) fantasy preview of the MID vs HAM game…

Numbers
- Nick Gubbins scores in last game – 192 and 61.
- Sam Robson – 2 wickets for no runs in 2nd innings of last game.
- Sam Northeast – 24 centuries in a total of 166 FC games so far.
Middlesex
It was one hell of a match for middle-order batsman Nick Gubbins last week when he managed to put up a massive score just 8 short of a fine double century in the 1st innings and then followed it up with another fifty int he 2nd innings, so he’s one of the first you should have in your MID vs HAM fantasy team. Opener Sam Robson managed only 38 runs in both innings combined but he’s got international experience, so we’re picking him.
The side is being led by middle-order batsman Stevie Eskinazi who didn’t have the greatest of games having scored 18 and 18 in the last game, but he’s a good talent and someone to definitely look out for in the entire tournament to come. The side has a couple of international level pacers and one of them is Irishman Tim Murtagh who is super experienced and it all showed in the last game where he picked a total of 7 wickets!
Hampshire
The side is being led by Sam Northeast who has played over 160 FC games over the years and he’s super experienced, having played for the England U15’s and U19’s as well. He won’t be picked by any fantasy teams because he scored a total of 23 runs in 2 innings in the last game. With scores of 21 and 27, Tom Alsop got starts in both innings but didn’t manage to carry on, so he’s another person to watch out for in this game.

With 1 Test and 1 T20I for England so far, 23-year old Mason Crane has got exposure at a young age and though he bagged a pair in the last game, he got returns of 3 wickets in each innings in the last game and that’s why he makes our PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234“) fantasy team today. USA player Ian Holland bagged 4 wickets and scored 13 runs in each innings, so he’s another person worth picking today!
