They’ve got a long break after the 2019 Ashes and England is now out to tour New Zealand where they will play 5 T20s and 2 Tests between 1 November and 3 December 2019. Technically, the tour has already begun as England XI played New Zealand XI in two T20 warm-up games, England XI winning the first and New Zealand XI winning the second. England is now set for a tougher challenge as the NZ full team has arrived!
Flashes of the 2019 ICC World Cup final will come back to everyone as these two play for the first time in an international game after they played in the final in July this year. England is ranked 2nd in the ICC T20 Rankings while New Zealand is lower down at 6th. Keep reading for our complete FanFight (Sign-up and get Rs.30 FREE) fantasy preview of the ENG vs NZ 1st T20…

England
The visitors will be led by Eoin Morgan and while he scored a few fifties in the 2019 T20 Blast, he scored 12 in the warm-up game here and with many T20 specialist batters in the side, I’ll give Morgan a bye. Instead, I’ll go with opening batsman Tom Banton and James Vince as my batsmen today. Banton scored only 11 and 6 in the practice games, while Vince scored 17 and 46. Both have been brilliant recently in the domestic circuit.
All-rounders are your money makers in the T20 format and one player I won’t miss is Sam Curran because he has proved himself at the international level as well as leagues like the IPL. I will make him my captain today as he bowls and is also a floater in the batting order. Like him, we have Joe Denly who opens the bowling and comes out to bat in the middle order. Denly scored 39* in the second game after a duck in the first.
New Zealand
With Kane Williamson injured, Tim Southee will lead the home team in this 5-match T20 series but I’ll skip Southee as he hasn’t been among the wickets in a long time. From this squad, Trent Boult was the most successful at CWC 2019 and he’s in my team along with bowling all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn who picked 3 wickets in 3 games against Sri Lanka and prior to that T20 series, he picked a 4-fer in the warm-up game.
Make sure you don’t drop out James Neesham from your FanFight (Sign-up and get Rs.30 FREE) fantasy team who had 15 wickets in CWC 2019 and 11 in CPL 2019, in 10 games each. He has contributed more with ball in recent months but we all know how dangerous he can be with the bat too. Seeing Adil Rashid’s success in the practice games, NZ may pick leggie Ish Sodhi who was also the top wicket-taker in the GT20 Canada earlier this year.
