It was a good start to the 2019 CWC Challenge Group B for Italy, managing a win against Kenya before going to lose their second match to Jersey by a massive margin of 122 runs. Now, they’re in action for the third time in this series in Oman and they have a tough opponent in Hong Kong for this game, a team which has made much more exposure at the global stage.
Hong Kong has played 2 games in this competition so far and they’ve kept calm and composed to win them both, first beating Bermuda in the last over and then getting over the line by 4 wickets against a newbie Jersey side. Keep reading for our PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy preview of the ITA vs HK game…

Italy
A majority of Nikolai Smith’s runs came in the first game itself but I’ll still have this guy on my team because he comes from New Zealand with experience playing for the Northern Knights. The side is being captained by batsman Joy Perera and though he has no great scores in recent times, he scored 26 and 47 in this tournament so far. If I had to choose a game-changing all-rounder, it would have to be Michael Ross.
Now Ross may only have 1 with and 7 runs in the last game, but he got 4/35 and scored 31 in the opening game and such all-rounders will rake you the big fantasy points. Similarly, we have the very experienced Gareth Berg who has 5 wickets in 2 games but only scores of 0 and 11 so far. However, with 2 FC centuries, he’s worth making your fantasy side captain. X-factor player – Nicholas Maiolo.
Hong Kong
The captain of my PlayerzPot (Use Code “READ1234”) fantasy team for one-on-one leagues will be Kinchit Shah who has 175 runs and is yet to be dismissed. He’s currently Hong Kong’s best batsman as well as bowler, with 5 wickets in these 2 games too. Since October, he’s had fifties against Canada and Nepal ET as well. All-rounders are key and much like him, we also have a brilliant all-rounder in Waqas Barkat.
If Shah is their leading run scorer and wicket-taker, Barkat is second on both lists and there’s no reason why he can’t be the captain of your fantasy team too. He has scores of 66 and 24 so far, while also picking up 5 wickets in 2 games. While these two have stolen the limelight, let’s not forget about Aizaz Khan who has 11 wickets in his last 10 games while also recording a top score of 25 in this same time period.
