Experience is almost always key and that’s why I’d also recommend Lasith Malinga especially since he has done well on this ground in the past as well. However, choose wisely as he hasn’t always been his best against India, picking up only 43 wickets in 39 ODIs against their neighbours.
It’ll be interesting to see how Avishka Fernando goes against India. He has been delightful to watch so far with scores of 49, 30, and a brilliant century in the last game. However, I’d prefer experience over youth against a bowling attack like India’s and would rather go in for Lahiru Thirimanne, who has done well against India in the past.
India
With all the criticism regarding MS Dhoni’s form and inability to finish off games for India, I expect him to hit back hard today against the familiar foes, Sri Lanka. India is expected to fool around with their bowling order as well and we have reason to believe Chahal could be rested for Ravindra Jadeja, who is yet to get a game in the 2019 World Cup.
