SL are playing 4 specialist bowlers so ensure you pick Thisara Perera, who has been their leader in runs and wickets in ODIs since 2018.
Kusal Mendis is undoubtedly one of the best batsmen in the Sri Lankan set-up and his break-out performances came against Australia itself. With scores of 0, 2 so far this World Cup, people won’t be picking him, so here’s your chance to rake in a few big bucks. Another experienced campaigner who won’t be in too many fantasy teams is Angelo Mathews, who bagged two DUCKS in two games so far but we all know who vital he is to this set-up.
Australia
After a successful IPL 2019 which saw him end with the Orange Cap and 692 runs, David Warner already has a fifty and a century at CWC 2019. Pick him like everyone else will do, but also pick all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who is growing as a cricketer and has matured in recent weeks. With captain Finch suggesting Australia will stick to the 4-bowler strategy, Maxwell is going to be putting in 6-8 overs every match and could pick up wickets too, even though he hasn’t so far.
A decision on Marcus Stoinis’ fitness will be taken at match-time but it seems unlikely that he will play which means Shaun Marsh will keep his place. With the Oval surface being a bit slow so far in CWC 2019, I would pick Adam Zampa in my CricMoney (sign-up to get Rs.25 FREE) fantasy team, provided that he comes in for Kane Richardson. Also pick Pat Cummins who has 32 wickets in his last 12 games and hasn’t gone wicketless in a single of those games.
