However, he has only picked one wicket in his last 3 games, so I’ll skip him for the less popular but very experienced Aaron Phangiso, who has 8 wickets in 7 games, including a match-winning 1/19 in the semi final.
Another worthy pick is Wiaan Mulder who has 7 wickets this season to add to his hitting abilities lower down the order. For the wicket-keeper pick, Ryan Rickelton is the automatic choice as he has been in brilliant form and he is a must-pick ahead of Warriors’ keeper Sinethemba Qeshile. Rassie van der Dussen is my captain today as he has scores like 69*, 59*, 30, 85 in his last 5 innings this year.
Warriors
First person on my fantasy team sheet for this game is Andrew Birch, whose 10* and 2/37 in the semi final was vital. The amount of experience he brings to the fore is crucial. With 84 runs and 3 wickets this tournament, JJ Smuts hasn’t been able to contribute how much he is capable of, but experience makes me think he will have a bigger role in this final. I’ll pick him as my vice-captain today.
If the top order fails today, it could spell doom for Warriors as a majority of their success this year has been because of the openers Gihahn Cloete (200 runs) and Matthew Breetzke (215 runs). Pick both. Another major player is Sisanda Magala who has 9 wickets and 102 runs in this season so no chances of dropping him from your fantasy side.
