It’s been a 2021/22 Ford Trophy severely affected by bad weather and washed out games so far. If you ask Northern Brave, they’ll tell you. So far this season, they’ve had three scheduled games but two of them were abandoned and they had to share points in those games while their only completed game saw them ending in a loss, so they currently have no wins in their three games in the New Zealand ODD tournament.
They’re now playing Match 10 of the tournament against Central Stags and this team hasn’t got a win as yet either, currently at the bottom of the 2021/22 Ford Trophy points table with no wins in their single game so far. They’re beginning as favourites for this encounter which is scheduled to be played at Pukekura Park. Keep reading for our complete MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) CS vs NB fantasy preview…

Numbers
- Head to head in last 5 games, Northern Brave leads 3-1.
- Adam Milne – opted for Sydney Thunder over Central Stags.
- Bayley Wiggins – no fifties in last 12 innings across formats.
Central Stags
There’s the recent magician from the 2021 India tour Ajaz Patel in this side and while he’s not the best spinner in the world, he’s high on confidence and that’s why we’ve got him in our CS vs NB fantasy team for this game. Among the pacers, there’s one of the better white ball bowlers in NZ domestic cricket in Blair Tickner who also has a little bit of international experience, so don’t forget about picking him either.
Their wicket-keeper Bayley Wiggins has been out of form and has struggled to get a big score, so not many will pick him in their CS vs NB Dream11 teams but it’s an opportunity for us. Remember, he’s got starts in almost all of those games. With three fifties in his last seven T20 games, the very experienced 37-year old Greg Hay seems to be in fine touch and he’ll better prefer this format, so don’t leave him out either.
Northern Brave
One of the top batsmen in the New Zealand domestic setup over the years is opener Jeet Raval and while he’s always got the name of a Test specialist, he scored 74(57) in their only completed game this season, so we know he means business in this format as well, and can up a gear when needed. Captaining the side is Joe Carter who got a fifty in their only game and scored 72* in a Super Smash game just before Christmas as well.

National side all-rounder Colin de Grandhomme was expensive in the last game, giving 60+ runs in just 5 overs and only getting 7 with the bat. But we all know he’s a match winner on his day and he’s a must in our MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) CS vs NB fantasy team, maybe even as fantasy captain. Among the bowling stocks, they have the experience of pacer Matt Henry while Ed Nuttall has been good in the last couple of seasons as well.
