The Super Smash T20 tournament is following a new style of fixtures wherein the Women’s Super Smash and the Men’s Super Smash take place simultaneously. In fact, the fixtures are the same too, with the women’s games taking place a few hours prior to the men’s games. Earlier in the day on 11th Jan, we have Canterbury Magicians taking on Auckland Hearts in the women’s competition at Christchurch.
A few hours later, Canterbury Kings take part at the same venue and they’ve had a good start to the 2020/21 Super Smash T20 in New Zealand. They’ve got 2 wins in their 3 games but their opponents Auckland Aces have had a poor start with 4 losses on the trot, and the latter will be wanting to desperately get a win here. Keep reading for our complete BatBall11 (Code “READ123“) fantasy preview of the CK vs AA game…

Stats that matter
- Last 4 completed games head to head, these teams are tied 2-2.
- Last 3 games in this tournament – all won batting first.
- Glenn Phillips – 2 single digit scores in 3 games so far.
Canterbury Kings
One of the first picks in my CK vs AA fantasy team today is Matt Henry since he’s got plenty of international experience and he’s managed 5 wickets in only 2 games so far in this tournament. Apart from him, there’s another player who doesn’t have international experience but he’s been taking plenty of wickets in the domestic circuit across formats and that’s Ed Nuttall; so he’s worth picking too, with 5 scalps in 3 games.
Young Ken McClure is another person who has been scoring runs across formats but hasn’t had the best starts here with a duck in the last game and a best of 40 in 3 games so far. He’s been in good form and deserves to be picked in today’s CK vs AA fantasy team. Daryl Mitchell only recently joined the side after the New Zealand test series ended and he got a maiden century there, so he’s a good pick to be your fantasy captain or vice-captain.
Auckland Aces
With the ball, Will Somerville brings in so much experience and it’s no surprise that he’s their leading wicket-taker with 5 wickets in 4 games, and he’s worth adding to your BatBall11 (Code “READ123“) fantasy team. Fresh of an international T20 century, Glenn Phillips is yet to show his dominance in the Super Smash 2020/21 season but he bowls here too and has managed to pick up 3 wickets as well.

If you want another bowling specialist, there’s always Benjamin Lister who has only 3 wickets in 4 games but those wickets came in one game only which shows he can be a real match winner on his day, so he’s surely worth picking. With the bat, Sean Solia is experienced and has been in good form too, with a best score of 75 so far in 4 games, currently also their leading run-scorer this tournament.
