Sri Lanka had a successful tour of Pakistan where they whitewashed the hosts 3-0 in the T20 series and then, they departed to play Australia down under, where 3 T20Is have been scheduled once again. The 1st T20 wasn’t a great result for the visitors against the mighty Australians and once that series is done, it’s time for Pakistan to face the same challenge, playing 3 T20Is and 2 Tests against Australia.
The tour is scheduled between 31 October and 3 December and while Pakistan is the #1 T20 side in the world, it’s not going to be easy to get past Australia in their own backyard, especially seeing the drubbing they gave Sri Lanka. Earlier this month, Nic Maddinson smashed 224 in an FC games and has then 3 starts which he failed to convert, so he’s another top order batsman in good form.
Young pacer Jhye Richardson is among the best upcoming bowlers in the country and he’s been among the wickets at the 2019 Marsh One Day Cup too, so there’s not way I can leave him out. Along with him, Riley Meredith makes my fantasy team purely because of the fact that he picked 10 wickets in his first 5 games at the Marsh Cup. With so much of international experience, Travis Head is a must pick and he could even be the captain or vice-captain of your team.
Pakistan
Easily the best batsman in the team, Babar Azam has been named captain of the Pakistan T20 and ODI teams and he’s coming into this series with one fifty and one century in 4 games at the National T20 Cup. Not many will pick Haris Sohail after his pathetic National T20 Cup performance but he had scores 40, 56, 52 in 3 games against Sri Lanka prior to that, so he’ll be in my team. They also picked the uncapped Usman Qadir in the squad.
Someone who you can’t miss in your My11Circle (Get Rs.500 Bonus*) fantasy team is Shadab Khan who was the second highest wicket taker in that tournament with 11 scalps in 7 games along with scores of 16 and 25* in the last two games. Imad Wasim is one of the best all-rounders in T20 cricket but he will be expensive and a very popular pick. After a quiet National T20, I’ll drop him for Iftikhar Ahmed who bats higher and bowls once in a way!
