The 2019/20 Big Bash League kicked off and so far, it’s been nothing but entertaining. While it has been a great show for us, it hasn’t been the best start for Melbourne Renegades, who have manged 2 losses in their 2 games so far. Now, they have another chance to open their account this season as they play Match 11 of BBL 2019/20 against Hobart Hurricanes.
After winning their first game batting first, Hurricanes succumbed to a massive 52-run loss against Melbourne Stars and they’re also in the bottom half of the points table, with 1 win in 2 games so far. Toss will play a vital role as most games played so far have been won batting first. Keep reading for our Funtasy11 (sign-up with code “6CD431“) fantasy preview of the HUR vs REN game…

- Shaun Marsh in 2 games so far this tournament – 55 and 42.
Hobart Hurricanes
The experienced duo of George Bailey and James Faulkner are back and are set to play their first games in BBL 2019/20; the two who will make way for them are Nathan Ellis and Macalister Wright. With the ball, make sure you pick young Qais Ahmed from Afghanistan who impressed with 5 wickets in 2 games while also having a best of 4/12.
Ben McDermott will captain the side but I’ll skip him as he hasn’t been in the best of form in recent times, having scores of 15 and 5 so far this season too. Instead, I’ll pick D’Arcy Short who has international experience and also has been in good form, including a great stint in England recently. Here, he has 60 runs in 2 games and now, he’s also a very frequent bowler too.
Melbourne Renegades
Marcus Harris and Jake Fraser-McGurk have been added to the 13-man squad in place of Tom Cooper and Beau Webster, and both are expected to be in the playing 11. While Harris has plenty of experience, Fraser McGurk is set to make his debut, and the 17-year old is coming off three consecutive 40+ scores for Victoria. Opener and the very experienced Aaron Finch will captain the side, with scores of 29 and 28 so far.
Buoyed by his success in the IPL 2020 auction, Kane Richardson had a fabulous last game, having picked a 4-fer and I’ll surely add him to my Funtasy11 (sign-up with code “6CD431“) fantasy team. Another very experienced T20 bowler is Harry Gurney who has played in almost every T20 league across the world. Here, he’s managed 3 wickets in 2 games so far.
