Aussie Women’s ODD 2019 – AM-W vs QUN-W Fantasy Preview

After initially beginning in September 2019, the 2019/20 Women’s National Cricket League makes a comeback and today, we have 3 matches lined up at the similar times but at different venues. The first game is between Western Australia and Victoria Women and Game 10 of the tournament soon follows between ACT Meteors Women and Queensland Women.

Much like Western Australia Women, Australia Capital Territory Women have also been good so far with 2 wins in 2 games, unbeaten and currently second on the points table. On the other hand, Queensland W are just below them in 3rd place with 1 win in their 2 games so far. Numbers

  • Last 5 games head to head, ACT Women lead 3-2.
  • Erin Osborne – only 5 wickets in last 10 professional games.
  • Nicola Hancock – only 3 wickets in last 10 professional games.
  • Katie Mack in 2 games this tournament so far – 83 and 63.

ACT Meteors Women

The ACT Women squad has a lot of absentees and remember not to pick Erin Burns, Hayley Jensen, Sam Bates, and Clara Lemma in your fantasy sides. Erin Osborne leads the side but she hasn’t had too many wickets in the last month or so, so I’d keep her out. Instead, pick Amy Yates who is the leading wicket-taker in this tournament with 7 scalps in 2 games, mostly thanks to a 6-fer in the first game.

Katie Mack will be very popular among the fantasy leagues because of 2 fifties in 2 games this season so far. However, one should notice that she’s only got 1 single-digit score in her last 10 outings, so I wouldn’t mind dropping her either. Meg’s sister Anna Lanning is in this team with scores of 46 and 5 so far, and she could be a useful pick. She also scored a fifty for Renegades Women in November at the WBBL 2019.

Queensland Women

A 13-member squad has been announced and Mikayla Hinkley and Holly Ferling are expected to warm the bench. Kirby Short is captaining the side and she had a top score of 11 in her last 10 games for Brisbane Heat Women. Instead, I’d pick wicket-keeper cum batter Georgia Redmayne who is coming off a stunning 113* against India A in December 2019.

Another player with national side experience who’s good for your MyFab11(sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team is Grace Harris who has noting but a couple of forties in her last 10 games but she bowls every so often too, with 3 wickets in 2 games. Another potential all-rounder pick is Georgia Prestwidge who managed 4 wickets and 10 in her last 10 games at WBBL 2019 too. She can bat if needed too!
