2020 Pro50 Championship – RAN vs MOU Fantasy Preview

The 2020 Pro50 Championship is on in full swing and we’re done with 4 rounds of action at Harare so far. Mountaineers have played in all 4 rounds so far and they’ve done really well, with 3 wins in 4 games and with a higher net run rate, they’re sitting on top of the points table. They now play in Match 9 of the tournament against Rangers.

Match 10 will be played simultaneously at another ground in Harare, between Tuskers and Rhinos. Coming back to this game, Rhinos will be wanting to get their name on the points table now, with 3 straight losses so far this season. Numbers

  • Brendan Taylor in 3 games so far this season – 17, 40, 2.
  • Roy Kaia in 4 games so far this season – 1, 40, 48, 34.
  • Wellington Masakadza – 34 overs and 0 wickets this tournament.

Rangers

Brian Mudziganyama and Tanunurwa Makoni will open the innings for Rangers and both of them have been bad so far, with 40 and 31 runs in 3 and 2 games respectively. If I have to pick one opener, it would be Makoni. In the middle order, they have the vastly experienced Brendan Taylor who has sadly not opened up this season either, with only 59 runs in 3 games so far. However, he can’t be dropped from your RAN vs MOU fantasy side.

With the ball, 19-year old Kudakwashe Macheka could be a good fantasy pick after having picked a 3-fer in the last game. Another bowler who is expected to start today’s game is Charlton Tshuma who has also been out of rhythm with only 3 wickets in 3 games, but he had a couple of 4-fers in 3 FC games for Rangers just a couple of months back, so he makes my fantasy side.

Mountaineers

Consistent players are always your safest bets and that’s why Roy Kaia should make your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team because he scores 30+ in all three games after an initial failure in the opening game. He is also their leading wicket taker with 8 scalps in just 4 games and that means he can also be your fantasy side’s captain or vice-captain.

With the ball, Donald Tiripano has gone wicketless in 3 of his 4 matches but he’s still a great pick as he bagged a 4-fer when he was in good rhythm. He has 50 international games under his belt and he’s proved he can be handy with the bat when needed too. Wellington Masakadza won’t be picked by many fantasy sides because he hasn’t bagged a wicket yet, but I’m picking him because of all his experience.
