The 2020 Pro50 Championship kicked off a few days back and we’re done with 3 rounds of the tournament already. In the fourth round of games, we have two matches lined up including one between Eagles and Rangers at Harare. Beginning at the same time at another ground is Match 8 and this will be played between Mountaineers and Mid West Rhinos.
Mountaineers have played a game in each of the three rounds so far and they’re settled in the top half of points table with 2 wins in 3 games. On the other hand, Rhinos have only played one game so far, and they lost that, so they will be looking to open their account here. Numbers
- Head to head in last 5 matches, Rhinos lead 3-2.
- Richmond Mutumbami in 3 games so far – 35, 31, 55.
- Tarisai Musakanda – 8 single digit scores in last 12 innings.
Mountaineers
The side is being led by Richmond Mutumbami who has plenty of international experience and he’s also been in good form, so he’s a part of my MOU vs MWR fantasy team for sure. With scores of 90, 26 and 30 in this tournament so far, Joylord Gumbie is another player in fine touch. Both are keeper batsmen and you’ll have to choose one if your fantasy league provider doesn’t allow multiple wicket-keepers.
A good choice for fantasy team captain or vice-captain could be Roy Kaia because of his all-round abilities. So far, he’s had a couple of forties in 3 games and a total tally of 7 wickets too, including a 3-fer and a 4-fer. Shingirai Masakadza has experience too but he has gone wicketless for 2 games after a 3-fer in the first game. I’d rather pick Donald Tiripano as my first choice fantasy bowler from this team.
Mid West Rhinos
The team is being captained by Prince Masvaure who recently scored his maiden test fifty against Sri Lanka last month. While he only got 8 runs in the last game, he’s in good form and should be a part of your MyFab11 (sign-up with code “READAD46“) fantasy team. Along with him, we have Tarisai Musakanda who also has international experience and he scored 40 in Rhinos first game this tournament.
Wicket-keeper batsman Peter Moor is another good option with the bat, having scored 20 in the last game and 92* in a T20I against Singapore recently. With the ball, left-arm orthodox spinner Tendai Chisoro was wicketless in the last game but he’s been a part of the national side in recent years and he can be your wicket-taker option today.
