What a scintillating knock it was from Pakistani international batsman Fakhar Zaman, which allowed Lahore Qalandars to register their third consecutive win at the 2018 Pakistan Super League. Opening the innings, he started cautiously but changed gears in the middle overs to score an entertaining 94(50), hitting the ball cleanly to all parts of the ground.
His innings included 9 fours and 6 sixes and allowed Lahore to get up to a score of 186/4 in their 20 overs, with help also coming from Gulraiz Sadaf, who scored an unbeaten 42(27)*. However, this is only another consolation victory for Lahore, as they began this season with 6 successive losses and are already out of contention of winning PSL 2018.
The Quetta Gladiators got off to a good start and with Jason Roy hitting a few sixes upfront, the game seemed to be swinging the Gladiators’ way. However, they quickly fell from 52/0 to 92/5 and the Qalandars took control once again. At one point, Rilee Rossouw threatened to take the game away, with 4 sixes in just 6 balls, but Mitchell McClenaghan had him bowled and that seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for Quetta.
