The Men’s ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup was introduced in 2013 as a 50-over competition between some of the top countries in the Asian continent. After 5 successful editions of the tournament between 2013 to 2013, the organisers decided to try the tournament in the 20-over format as well, which first took place in 2024.
There have been several players who have contributed with the bat in this competition, some playing several editions as well. There were obviously more centurions in the 50-over format of this competition, and the first player to score an ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup century was UAE’s Shaiman Anwar who scored not one but two centuries in the 2013 ACC ETAC tournament, against Singapore and Bangladesh U-23s respectively.

Initially, the tournament was played between U-23 sides of full-member ICC countries but later, the age barrier was removed as the A-sides of the top nations participated. This meant that players who have represented their senior national sides were also featuring in the tournament, while many others performed here to build their way into their respective national teams.

Sahibzada Farhan holds a unique record in this tournament because he scored back-to-back centuries in two consecutive days. Individually, we haven’t seen any big, daddy centuries in this competition, with no 150+ scores ever being achieved. Sri Lanka’s Avishka Fernando holds the record for the highest score in Emerging Teams Asia Cup history, scoring 133(124) in the 2023 edition.
