We at Read Scoops always like talking about the various IPL batting and bowling records over the years and today too, we’re going to talk about one. We’re exploring the top batsmen with the most number of IPL centuries scored over their IPL careers. Remember that all the stats you will see below are updated as of 11th March 2022 before the start of the IPL 2022 season.
5) Sanju Samson
Probably one of the most talented batsmen in the Indian domestic circuit who is yet to make it big at the international level, Sanju Samson has always excited IPL fans watching from around the world. As of now, he’s one of only two players with 3 centuries in the IPL and we’re listing only him because he’s got there in 121 IPL matches. He’s tied with AB de Villiers who doesn’t make this list because he got 3 centuries in 184 IPL games.
4) Shane Watson
Like ABD, here’s another player who has retired from the IPL. Shane Watson called it quits a couple of years ago but it’s good to see him still standing in this records book. He’s got 4 centuries in 145 IPL career matches and has always been a match-winner in this tournament. The Australian is one of three overseas players in this list at this point of time and from his our centuries, his best score was that of 117* in the IPL 2018 final.

3) David Warner
Another Australian cricketer and another player with 4 centuries to his name in the IPL, David Warner is in fact in several IPL batting record books, also holding the record for the most number of IPL fifties by any batsman. Having got these tons in 150 IPL matches, Warner is the only player on this list with a 40+ batting average in this tournament and from his IPL tons, he has a best score of 126 against KKR in IPL 2017.
2) Virat Kohli
Tell us an IPL batting record that this guy isn’t a part of? He’s the highest run scorer in the IPL and though he’s usually not referred to as a T20 batsman, he’s got 5 centuries in this league over the years. Most of it came in IPL 2016 where Kohli had an unparalleled and unprecedented season, where he scored four of his centuries in a single season. However, he doesn’t have a daddy hundred in this format yet, with a top score of 113 which came against Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2016.
1) Chris Gayle

He’s sitting on top of the list for most IPL sixes as well, and also tops the list for most IPL centuries, and that’s Chris Gayle’s legacy for you. With 142 IPL matches to his name, he’s got the best conversion rate among players on this list with as many as 6 centuries and no one will forget that record breaking innings of 175* he scored against Pune Warriors in IPL 2013.
