It was a big game between India and Pakistan today in the 2022 Asia Cup T20 and it was the second time in a week that they’ve faced off. Emotions run high in such high-octane clashes and that’s what was happening today in the second game of the Super Fours as well. Overall, Pakistan beat India by 5 wickets but there were quite a few smaller moments that mattered during the game.
India was scoring at a healthy run rate right through the innings but a flurry of wickets meant they weren’t getting a move on in the final over. Virat Kohli played three ducks before getting run out on the fourth ball. India had two bowlers at the crease after that and they needed some lucky runs off the final couple of balls, which they did get off the bat of Ravi Bishnoi.
Fakhar Zaman has a word with cameraman
The fifth ball of the final over bowled by pacer Haris Rauf was nearly a yorker which Bishnoi scooped out to extra cover and it honestly shouldn’t have been more than a single. However, the fielder Fakhar Zaman made a mess of the job he was meant to do, missing the spin on the ball and allowing it to get past him. He turned back and tried to chase it to avoid a boundary, but that was in vain.
The final ball of the over was nearly a carbon copy of the previous one, where Bishnoi played another shot in the air but this time it was going straight into Zaman’s hands. The fielder made yet another mess of it, missing the overhead catch and parrying it over the boundary ropes for four more runs to be added to India’s total. Basically, he gave away 8 bonus runs in 2 balls, that allowed India to get to 181/7 in 20 overs.

The camera was following Zaman and so was the ball, as it almost always does when you’ve messed up in the field. Zaman is not usually known to be a bad fielder and when the Pakistani batting innings began, you’d think everyone would’ve forgotten about his couple of blunders. However, it wasn’t the case as the video kept playing even after the run chase began.
Fakhar usually bats at number #3 and he was shown padded up as the Pakistani openers were still in. The replays of the blunders kept showing and then, the camera panned to the left-handed batsman. Then, he gave out a wry smile and told the cameraman, “Bas hogaya aur kitna dikhaaoge’ which translates to ‘That’s enough, how much more will you show it?!’ See the video here:

Zaman had a poor game in the field and he wasn’t able to contribute with the bat much either, but a win is what matters and that’s what Pakistan got today in this crucial first game for both sides in the Super Four of the Asia Cup 2022.
