Maybe not the biggest T20 franchise league in the world but the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has been growing leaps and bounds over the years. And part of the T20 game’s biggest entertainment factor are the batsmen who hit the biggest fours and sixes and every now and then, bring up personal milestones of their own as well.
Since we’re talking about batsmen in the BPL, we’re going to cover the leading run scorer’s in BPL T20 history, right from the first season till date. Obviously since this is a Bangladeshi league, nine out of the top 10 batsmen in the Bangladesh Premier League history are Bangladeshi itself but we hope to see that change as they sign more international names each year…
On this page, we’re going to list down BPL T20’s top 10 batsmen in terms of runs scored over the years. Currently, former Bangladesh national side captain Tamim Iqbal is leading the run scoring charts in this competition and he’s followed by other crucial national side players like Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah, Shakib al Hasan, and others.

Apart from him, only Mushfiqur Rahim and Chris Gayle have batting averages of 30+ in their respective BPL careers. In terms of runs, only Iqbal, Rahim, and Mahmudullah have past the 2,000-run mark.
Hundreds come along not so easily in the Bangladesh Premier League, with only 3 of the top 10 run scorers in this tournament having BPL centuries to their name – Chris Gayle has as many as 5 BPL centuries, Iqbal has 2 centuries in this league, and Sabbir Rahman has one. In terms of BPL fifties, Iqbal leads the charts in this tournament once again, with as many as 23 fifties and no one else near him on this list.

He also holds the record for the most number of boundaries in the BPL T20, with 274 fours being smashed from his bat and in terms of the sixes, we’re not surprised to see Universe Boss Chris Gayle at the top of this list, as he’s done in many other global T20 franchise leagues. He’s got 143 sixes in the tournament, with no other player even getting to the 100-sixes mark.
The likes of Litton Das, Rilee Rossouw, and Andre Fletcher narrowly missed making this list but they may climb a few spots in years to come.
