Known by multiple names for sponsorship reasons over the years, the Australian Domestic One-Day Cup is today known as the Marsh One-Day Cup and this is Australia’s premier List A tournament, which takes place once a year. The tournament has proved to be a stepping stone for youngsters looking to find their way into the Australia ODI and T20 national sides.
There have been several batting records broken in the competition, which first began in the 1969/70 season in Australia. Big sixes, boundaries, fifties, and hundreds were scored every now and then. However, in recent years, double hundreds is something that has crept into the List A game, so on this page, we’ve put together a complete Marsh One Day Cup double centuries list…
Double centuries are not something you see every day in the 50-over format but the first Marsh Cup double hundred took place in 2014, off the bat of left-arm batsman, Ben Dunk. Always being a consistent player in the domestic circuit, he went down in the competition’s history as the first to breach the 200-mark for an individual score, scoring 229(157)* for Tasmania against Queensland.

Till date, there have been as many as four Australian List A double centuries, and three of them cam against the Queensland team. After Dunk, some more left-handed batsmen join this elite list including Travis Head and D’Arcy Short. See below for our complete Marsh One Day Cup double hundreds list, last updated 25th February 2024, after the end of Marsh Cup 2023-24.

All the four double hundreds in the Marsh One Day Cup so far were scored by left-handers and while Dunk was the first to get there, Travis Head became the first to get two double centuries in the Australia List A tournament, while also becoming the first Australian to bring up two List A double hundreds in their career – 202(120) and 230(127).
On the other hand, D’Arcy Short’s double century was another record-breaking one when he scored a whopping 257(158) for Western Australia against Queensland in 2018. That innings also broke the record for the most sixes in an innings in the Australian List A tournament, hitting 23 sixes and 15 boundaries in that record innings.
A couple of players came really close to entering the Marsh Cup double hundreds list, with David Warner being dismissed for 197 in October 2013 while more recently, Thomas Rogers was dismissed for 196 in an innings that included 15 fours and 15 sixes in February 2024. Aaron Finch, Jimmy Maher, and Shaun Marsh also got 180+ scores in this tournament.
