TEAM ENGLAND
When you look at the 10 teams that are playing in the 2019 ICC World Cup, there’s no doubt tat England is the strongest team, a team which can consistently hit the 400+ mark in ODI cricket while also having a great win percentage since their debacle in WC 2015. However, this tournament hasn’t been good for them historically, never having brought home the trophy, although they did win the T20 World Cup trophy once in 2010.
Look at that batting line-up (top 5-6) and it’s impossible to find someone who is out of form. In fact, we have some like James Vince who will most likely warm the bench in this tournament, even though he had a brilliant recent 2019 Royal London Cup with 509 runs in just 7 games (1×100, 3×50). This batting force is also considering someone like Alex Hales missing out due to a dope ban that led to him being dropped.
Jason Roy has recovered from a back injury and looks to be in the form of his life having recently picked up scores of 87, 76, 114, 32, 89* in his last 5 innings. Opening partner Jonny Bairstow recently recorded 445 runs in 10 games at IPL 2019 and we’re not counting out Jos Buttler could can come and change games quickly. This batting order sees capable batsmen like Plunkett and Rashid even at #10, so batting won’t be an issue for England at CWC 2019.

England has been able to produce victories across the globe and recently even decimated Pakistan at home 4-0. However, they lost the first of their two warm-up games to Australia, winning the next against Afghanistan. Captain Eoin Morgan went on record talking about the massive expectations on their shoulders, saying losing is eminent. He has also been in great touch while the biggest worry for England is the form of Ben Stokes, who hasn’t been able to score runs and has only 1 wicket in his last 7 games.
If they do feel the need of playing an extra all-rounder apart from the highly versatile Moeen Ali, they have the services of Liam Dawson and Tom Curran too. Curran has managed to consistently take wickets while also swinging the willow when required by the team, much like his younger brother Sam at the recent IPL 2019. However, we don’t expect these two (Tom Curran, Dawson) to be a part of the first choice eleven.
England Squad for ICC 2019 World Cup:
Adil Rashid, Ben Stokes, Chris Woakes, Eoin Morgan (C), Jason Roy, Joe Root, Jonny Bairstow, Jos Buttler (WK), Liam Plunkett, Mark Wood, Moeen Ali, Tom Curran, Liam Dawson, Jofra Archer, James Vince.

The bowling attack is where they stand slightly vulnerable as a team. Liam Plunkett and Mark Wood are expected to be first-choice pacers and these guys could be slightly expensive at times. Expect Jofra Archer to be the x-factor for England through this tournament. Having recently completed his English residency requirements, he made his England debut and is completely new to the other countries..
