It’s always a massive honour to represent your country in any sport and it’s an even bigger feeling when you go on to be successful at the global stage. The Commonwealth Games 2022 is currently underway in England’s Birmingham and we’ve seen a number of success stories and winners from different countries from across the world.
We at Read Scoops have been following the Indian contingent and it’s been quite a journey for them as well. India has won gold medals across several categories and sporting events and while some of them were expected to bring home gold, others have risen through the ranks and made a name for themselves. Here, we’re listing down all those gold medal winners for India at CWG 2022…
India opened it’s account on the opening day of the games itself with Mirabai Chanu bringing home India’s first gold medal of the event. She won the Women’s Weightlifting 49kg category and that inspired a lot of others in the weightlifting team to go on to win medals in the different categories for both men and women.

All of Ravi Dahiya, Vinesh Phogat, Naveen, and Bhavina Patel brought home gold medals in their respective wrestling and Para Table Tennis categories, some already being known names in this sport while others cropping up for the first time.
It’s good to see that it wasn’t just individuals but also teams doing well at CWG 2022, with India also winning gold medals in table tennis and lawn bowls, with the men’s and women’s teams respectively. As for the lawn bowls event, it was the first time India went on to win a medal in that sport, and that team has gone down in the history books…
