After a lot of planning and execution behind the scenes, we’re finally looking at the Big Cricket League (BCL T20) going live, with 6 franchise teams representing various regions of India. The term Big Cricket comes from the fact that there are multiple big stars in the league, mostly those who have officially retired from international cricket in recent months or years.
The inaugural players draft of Big Cricket League was held in Mumbai earlier this month and there, 36 former international players were picked by 6 franchise sides including UP Brij Stars, Southern Spartans, Northern Challengers, Mumbai Marines, Rajasthan Regals, and MP Tigers; The BCL 2024 season commences on 12th December in Surat.

UP Brij Stars Squad BCL 2024 – Ashley Nurse, Ben Dunk, Ben Laughlin, Hamilton Masakadza, Imran Tahir, Kevon Cooper, Monu Kumar, Chirag Gandhi, Adharsh T, Apoorva Mehrotra, Aryan Pravin, Garvit Agarwal, Gaurav Tomar, Narendra Kumar Meena, Raahat Agarwal, Salil Yadav, Sumit Chaudhary, Vedprakash Manda.
Each squad comprises of 18 players which is a maximum mix of 6 former international players, 6 former First Class players, and 10 local aspiring cricketers. Each team will participate in the single round robin followed by knockouts format of the tournament and the BCL 2024 schedule is already out.
Some of the players have already participated in retired players leagues like Legends League Cricket in recent months, while others will be making fresh appearances after their respective retirements from the game.
