WATCH: Video of Noida Twin Towers Demolition

Ina  one-of-a-kind incident today, the Supertech Twin Towers in Noida came crashing down to the floor in a matter of a few seconds and minutes as the ordered demolition took place. The two towers stood more than 100-meter tall which is even higher than the iconic Qutub Minar of Delhi, which is around 73 meters tall.

There was a 9-year long legal tussle around the Noida Twin Towers and everything came to an end in a matter of maybe 9 seconds. The demolition took place today, Sunday 28th August 2022, and nearby buildings seemed to be safe after the demolition, with videos of the same having gone viral on social media earlier today.

In the video below, you will see several people in the building windows and terraces taking videos of the demolition, as this is not something that many of them may have experienced in their lives before. A detailed safety audit is expected to be carried out later, but the air quality and visibility seemed to have been considerably deteriorated after the demolition button was pressed.

The dust seemed to have encapsulated nearby buildings in this blast, but none of them are damaged. Close to 500 police and traffic personnel were deployed in and around the Supertech twin towers to ensure it all went down in the right manner. The Noida-Greater Noida Expressway was ordered to be shut between 2:15pm and 2:45pm while a no-fly order was passed for drones during the time too.

Realty giant Supertech has added that the demolition was conducted as per the Noida development authorities, and it won’t affect any of their other properties or constructions. The demolition was done by a ‘controlled implosion’ and the two towers Ceyane (29 floors) and Apex (32 floors) which were part of the Emerald Court project of Supertech Ltd, were the ones that had to go down.

After a long court battle, the towers were found to be in violation of multiple regulations regarding construction as per the authorities, and hence this step had to be taken. Drone images appeared shortly after the blast, showing the post-demolition appearance of the area as well. The demolition is said to have costed around Rs.20 Crore.
