Tough times keep getting even tougher, and it’s keeping the editorial team at Read Scoops pretty busy too. After quite a few high-profile celebrities were diagnosed with the deadly coronavirus, the first member of Great Britain’s royal family has been diagnosed with COVID-19, someone who reports initially mentioned only had mild symptoms of the disease.
You know it’s serious when someone with so much security and the ability to be isolated can catch the virus. We’re talking about the 71-year old Prince Charles who has a few minutes ago been confirmed as the latest coronavirus patient of the UK, as reported by CNN. The Clarence House where the royal family stays in Westminster, London recently confirmed news about the same.
Currently, Prince Charles is self-isolating in Scotland along with Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, the latter having tested negative for coronavirus. It’s not possible to ascertain how the Prince has contracted the virus, but he had plenty of social and business engagements in the last few weeks which could have led to the same happening. Here’s the official statement:
“The Prince of Wales has tested positive for coronavirus. He has been displaying mild symptoms but otherwise remains in good health and has been working from home throughout the last few days as usual. The Duchess of Cornwall has also been tested but does not have the virus. In accordance with government and medical advice, the Prince and the Duchess are now self-isolating at home in Scotland. The tests were carried out by the NHS in Aberdeenshire where they met the criteria required for testing.”
The last public event attended by Prince Charles was a reception and dinner which was hosted as a relief effort for the recent Australian bushfires, hosted on 12 March 2020 at Mansion House in London. For more updates on the story, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
