Probably one of the most iconic women cricketers of all-time, Ellyse Perry is extremely respected in the cricketing industry, with records that not many will be able to emulate in years to come. The Australian all-rounder was engaged to Australian rugby player Matt Toomua in 2014 and the two tied the knot in December 2015, more than 4 years ago.
Perry has played 240 internationals for Australia while Toomua himself has represented Australia 35 times since 2013, but the duo had some bad news to announce a couple of days back. As per reports, their 4-year marriage has come to an end and they released a joint statement saying theu’ve decided to part ways, mutually and respectfully.
“It’s with the greatest of respect for one another that we decided to separate earlier this year. We felt this was the right course of action and is in the best interests of each other and our current lives. This is something that has evolved and is a mutual decision. Throughout our relationship we have remained private and we ask that our space and privacy continue to be respected during this difficult time for both of us,” said the Sydney Herald on Saturday.

There were speculations regarding the same when Perry won the Belinda Clarke for the third time, earlier this year in February. While she went on to receive the award, people didn’t miss the lack of a wedding ring on her finger. However, all speculations have now been put to rest with this official announcement.
