The 99-year old passed away peacefully at the age of 99 years today and this would’ve been a heart-breaking day for the Queen who has often described him as her ‘strength and stay over the years’. The former navy commander spent many of his years as the Queen’s aide and was actively involved in charity work. On the flipside, he was involved in a few controversies and maybe found him to be outright offensive in nature.

Prince Philip was earlier admitted to hospital on 16 Feb 2021, but was taken back home after a month and ever since, he was being treated for a pre-existing heart condition and another infection. As a tribute to his passing, television news channel BBC played the national anthem with a picture of Philip dressed in his military uniform from back in the day.
