We’re more than halfway through the lockdown in India which was just imposed upon us by Prime Minister Modi almost a couple of weeks back. India has now reached the top 35 countries now in terms of coronavirus cases across the world, with a current count of 3,082 cases. Recently, we jumped over Japan, Pakistan and Luxembourg in terms of total cases of this deadly global virus.
In terms of deaths, we’re in the top 30 countries in the world, currently with a tally of 86 deaths from COVID-19. Considering our total population, we’ve done brilliantly to control these numbers so far, but the peak is yet to come, as many experts suggest the virus counts could peak in India by end May or even June.
Surely then, this lockdown may and will be extended?! All we’re asking is that people take it seriously and stay at home, so that we don’t end up having a pathetic situation like the one in Spain, Italy, United States and a couple of other countries. Right now, the global count stands at 1.11 million COVID-19 cases and the numbers keep going up on a daily basis.
The number of deaths across the world are currently at 59,000+ and the leader in terms of deaths across the world is Italy, with 14,600+ deaths. It’s a tough time we’re going through and the only way we can get past this is by abiding by the law of the country, currently having reached Lockdown Day 12.
The number however, is slightly lower on the World Health Organization website, just below a million cases as reported by them. Recently, there was a live press conference at the WHO headquarters in Geneva, continuing the trend of briefing the media on a daily basis to keep the world aware of what’s happening. See here:
Even if it ends up getting extended, remember it’s just a couple of weeks or our life. Do it well and we’ll have plenty of years to come. For more updates, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
