I was scared to move on to Day 5, because the app I’m using isn’t gradually increasing the number of reps in my daily workout. It’s just jumping higher on a daily basis. For those who have been following, here’s an update on Day 4 of my Lockdown Workout Challenge, which was actually the first time on this journey that I finished all 3 Rounds in my workout routine.
So, I’m taking the calisthenics route. No equipment required, just heavy strengthening of body muscles and coming since I haven’t been a workout freak in the past, I thought of sharing this 21-Day Challenge with some of you who are like me. The coronavirus lockdown is on since a while and this is the best time you’ll get to work on your body and on yourself.

With this workout, one rule is that you need to spend 10-12 minutes on warming yourself up. This isn’t a gym workout which will be cardio one day, chest one day, legs one day. This is a mix, every single day. And you need your muscles loose and ready to take on the heat that’s coming. Remember to break into a sweat while you’re still warming up. Here’s a look at my Day 5 workout:
- Femoral bridge – 16x
- Decline pushups – 14x
- Plank – 45 seconds
- Lunges – 12x each side
- Bench dips – 26x
Remember, all of these need to be completed 3 times each. While the first 3 days were tough on me, I managed to complete this routine, thus reaching my target 2 days in a row. However, I can feel the body aching as I type this. Yesterday’s plank was just 30 seconds and it shoots up to 45 seconds here. And trust me, bench dips and push ups in a single workout means your triceps are probably crying out loud too.

Considering the wall squats from Day 4 and the femoral bridge along with the lunges on Day 5, I’ve given myself a decent buttock workout as well, and I finished in 44:42 minutes today. The bridge and decline push-ups were introduced for the first time and it was a decent workout session, though I had to pause for a minute in my third round of decline push ups!
Overall, another good day and I’m 23% into my 21-Day Workout Challenge. I’m looking forward to Day 6 of this challenge but I don’t want to peek into the app and see what it has in store for me. Now that I’m completing the routine, I hope it doesn’t get too hard tomorrow! Until next time (next workout update), stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
