The intensity is increasing. Across most workout apps, you’ll find the number of reps gradually increasing, day on day. However, the app I’m using for my 21-day workout challenge has big jumps each day, and it’s getting tougher by the day. However, I’m up to the challenge so far and I’m going to continue sharing the journey with everyone reading.
The last time I posted, I completed Day 3 of the lockdown workout challenge and by then, I hadn’t completed a single routine yet, failing in Round 3 across all three days. However, my body seems to be slightly used to the pain and the soreness and guess what?! I’m actually liking it so far, but I don’t know if I can say the same in days to come as the reps just keep increasing.

Day 4 workout:
- Plank – 30 seconds
- Lunges – 10x each side
- Bench dips – 25x
- Wide-grip push ups – 18x
- Wall squats – 45 seconds
Remember, it’s easier when you spend 10-12 minutes and break into a sweat warming up itself. The whole body is being worked in this routine and it becomes extremely difficult to get past it when you’ve not warmed up well. Today, I managed to complete 3 rounds for the first time, thought I was huffing and puffing by the end of it.

You’re usually expected to wrap up within 45 minutes but I’m not used to the set warm up routine and don’t waste time taking the entire 75-second break between exercises, so I managed to finish the workout within 40:37 minutes. Of course, the toughest part was doing wide-grip push ups right after bench dips, both of which work on the triceps.
On Day 3, I did 30-second wall squats and the 15-second jump in this exercise took the life out of my legs. In fact, it’s going to be tough to walk tomorrow after this routine. However, I’m liking to and looking forward to Day 5 of this workout challenge as well. For daily updates on this journey, stay tuned to ReadScoops.com.
