It’s basically a massive error made by pop sensation Rihanna, who was recently performing at the pre-wedding festivities of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.
Probably the biggest wedding in India, or maybe even in the world, ever, the Ambanis have flown down the who’s who of the world. The pre-wedding celebrations were taking place in Jamnagar, Gujarat, and Rihanna mis-pronounced the name of Radhika Merchant while talking about their love during her performance.

As per reports, Rihanna has been paid anywhere between 66-74 Crore Indian Rupees to come down for this performance. And even after all that money, she couldn’t come out with the right pronunciation of the person getting married. Not sure how well that’s going to do gown with the Merchant or Ambani family.
In between her performance, Rihanna was seen saying thank you for having her there and “God bless your union” but she failed miserably with the pronunciation, as she said, “I’m here tonight in honour of Anant and Radaki!” She went on to wish them the best of luck and congratulated them before going to her next song.

She was talking about love and moved into her next song ‘We Found Love’. She shouted out to the crowd to make some noise, and make some noise especially for the bride. That’s when Rihanna said Radhika’s name again, and this time in a much better way. However, it’s only the mispronunciation clip that has gone viral. See the Radaki video here:

It’s not the first time an American has failed to pronounce Indian names correctly as we’ve seen former American President Donald Trump struggle to take names of the likes of Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli during his trip to India a few years ago, speaking about them in front of a crowd of hundreds, and millions more watching on television.
