Man, we find it difficult to keep track of how many zeroes there are in a trillion. Hell, it’s difficult to even spell out trillionaire. In fact, it’s such an alien word that my computer is even listing it down as a spelling error. Surely, people who can be called trillionaires have down something extraordinary to get there, because this word isn’t even listed in Windows’ dictionary.
It was a recent report we stumbled across earlier today that left us shell-shocked. It spoke about how American industrialist and the CEO of Amazon, Jeff Bezos is all projected to become the world’s first ever trillionaire. Of course, he’s still a fair way off but if the projections are right, he’s on his way to get there by 2026.
The reports were first published a month ago on this website called Comparisun which spoke about the Trillion dollar club and which companies are projected to reach there soon, after Apple and Microsoft already getting there. They also spoke about individuals who could get there soon, and Bezos is leading the race by miles.
In fact, he’s projected to get there by 2026 even though the man recently lost $38 billion in his divorce settlement. He’s still the world’s richest man by a long way and the recent COVID-19 situation has helped him grow even quicker. The Amazon share price has risen over 40% in the last couple of months, with Amazon being one of the sole providers of essentials to people across the globe.
He owns a 11.2% stake in the company and when this report was first released, he had a net-worth of around $143 billion, which has only been surging in recent weeks. The reports suggests that while he reaches the trillionaire club first, at around age 62 Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg may be the younger person to get there, estimated around 51 years of age.
